We envision a future where access to high-quality support for trauma healing is accessible, affordable, and culturally relevant.

What we do

The Global Trauma Project (GTP) works with local leaders in marginalized communities to design and implement trauma-informed healthcare programs. GTP builds lasting capacity within the existing systems through on-going training, mentoring, and certification.

Male Police Officer, Juba

"It is only thanks to God that I was called to come [to the community workshop] today. You don't know, but I have felt so terrible and alone with all of this. I had actually planned that at tonight at 11:00PM, I would kill myself. It is only by the grace of God that I was brought here today, and am hearing these things. Now, I cannot do this tonight. I need to know more about all that we are learning here."

Female Community Facilitator, Bor

"This training is important to a state of peace.  If we can get people to come out of their tents, and gain this information, we can be more in the right state of mind.  We can get some vision and hope for the future.  But without this, we may stay like those in the pictures-- victimized, fighting, and violent."

Trauma-informed change-making prevents and reduces intergenerational cycles of partner and family violence. The work from Global Trauma Project has a lasting, profound impact on communities.

TICM Certification

The Global Trauma Project offers a practice-based, project-driven certification program. The program integrated the trauma-informed change-making model (TICM), as well as the trauma-informed community empowerment framework (TICM).

The certification program closes the gap for trauma-informed care by combining self-paced learning, live sessions, peer exchange, and mentorship.
